Sydney is an education professional with extensive experience in teaching, teacher training, and international development. With a Master’s in Comparative Education and International Development from the University of Edinburgh, her research focused on the role education plays in conflict and peacebuilding, using Afghanistan during the US-Afghan conflict as a case study. She has served as a Primary Teacher Trainer Specialist with the Peace Corps in The Gambia, where she worked with local educators to improve teaching quality and uplift local communities through education. Along with her work with NSDE, Sydney currently volunteers as a Social Media Consultant and Campaigns and Promotions Officer with Aid Afghanistan for Education, advocating for equitable access to education for Afghan girls. She is passionate about using education as a tool for empowerment and is dedicated to creating opportunities for marginalized communities.
